Tom Binns gets TV pilot for Ivan Brackenbury

Radio presenter and comedian Tom Binns has secured a BBC One pilot for his character Ivan Brackenbury.

Tom will play multiple characters in the one-off show, including hospital manager Susan Mitchell, overenthusiastic priest Father Kenny and serial hypochondriac patient Terry Boyle, reports Chortle.

A complete hospital radio studio set has been built, complete with cart machines with days of the week jingles on, and will feature as part of Hospital People during BBC One Comedy Playhouse season.

Ivan first appeared in 2007 at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with his hospital radio roadshow, where he plays inappropriate songs for patients.

He’s also been on BBC Radio 2 and toured in the UK, New Zealand and Australia in the last few years. A fly on the wall documentary was created in 2014.
