Alan Clifford back on-air at BBC Radio Nottingham

There are changes at BBC Radio Nottingham as new programmes are introduced on weekday afternoons.

Following a short spell off air to concentrate on producing, Alan Clifford will be back behind the mic taking the reins from 12pm until 4pm. The station says his show will offer listeners a refreshing mix of debate and conversation.

Alan has been with the BBC since 1984, starting off at BBC Pebble Mill then joining BBC Radio Nottingham in 1989 as Programme Assistant before working his way up to senior producer for daytimes then on to breakfast from 97-99. He then settled on Drive for 16 years.

And Verity Cowley will be keeping listeners company for their journey home as she moves from the 12pm slot to 4pm until 7pm, replacing Richard Allen who will be starting a 2pm-6pm Saturday afternoon show during the summer. She’ll be taking calls and offering three hours of local and national stories, music and fun.

Breakfast stays the same with Andy Whittaker and Sarah Julien and Mark Dennison stays on mid-mornings.
