Longest ever podcast underway with Mike Russell

A live non-stop 36 hour ‘podcast’ is now streaming live by former talkSPORT producer Mike Russell.

Mike, now running his own podcasting business, started at 10am today and plans to continue till 10pm Friday night.

He said: “Podcasting is a great medium. Listening to podcasts literally changed my life; I went from working in a regular job to running two of my own profitable, online businesses as a direct result of listening to other inspirational podcasters. I want other folks to have life-changing opportunities by discovering a world of great podcasts.

“Everyone is welcome to register to watch the full, 36-hour event online for free online, and we have a new guest every hour”.

Mike Russell has done this kind of thing before too – in 2007 he hosted the world’s longest radio broadcast on Time 106.6 FM by not sleeping for 126 hours – raising over £7k for charity in the process.

He’ll be joined by members of the UK Podcasters community. A group of over 650 podcasters who provide top-rated podcasts to a growing international audience that are not published by big media companies. He’ll be joined by:

  • Journalist Simon Dunant discussing “How Podcasting is Humanizing the Web” from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m. on 21st April
  • Best-selling fiction author Ani Alexander mentioning how podcasting can be great for book launches 11:00 to 12:00 a.m. on 21st April
  • Crowdfunding Strategist Anthony de Souza who will explain “How to Build and Grow a Crowd Online” on 22nd April from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.
