The Next Radio Conference, taking place on September 19th 2016, is offering ten free tickets this year.
Folder Media and Fun Kids’ Matt Deegan, who’s one of the organisers, says: “Other radio events tend to be for the big boss, ours is for people who make radio or work on radio projects. We run the event at break even so as many people as possible can come – something that means we’re now the biggest UK radio conference.”
The early bird price is £99, but thanks to event sponsor Broadcast Bionics, the first ten tickets released will be free. Anyone can register in the draw to win these tickets by visiting the Next Radio website. The winners will be announced this Wednesday at 10am when early bird tickets will go on sale.
In previous years speakers have ranged from the BBC to NPR, Soundcloud to Sport Relief and from Facebook to Radioplayer. They’ve had Obama’s website guru talk about email, Twitter UK’s boss talk about team building and Iain Lee talk about the producer/presenter relationship.
They’ve also had sessions about developing presenter skills, using data to pick music, how to raise money for charity, the power of unusual adverts and lots more. Eighty-eight videos of previous sessions are available on the website free of charge, and from Wednesday, will be heard on inRadio.
Organiser James Cridland adds: “Next Radio’s sessions last just 9 or 18 minutes. So, the day’s packed with over 20 amazing speakers – whatever part of the audio industry you’re in – radio, streaming, music, building content or supporting those that do – you’ll really get something out of the day. I’m literally travelling halfway across the world to be there.”
