Yorkshire Coast Radio raises £12k for charity

Yorkshire Coast Radio’s annual Bring a Pound to Work Day fundraiser has raised over £12,500.

Over 300 businesses took part this year, encouraging their staff to donate a pound to a local Hospice, Saint Catherine’s. The whole of the Yorkshire Coast Radio team were out and about for the day collecting the pounds.

Chris Sigsworth, Managing Director of Yorkshire Coast Radio, says: “The services that Saint Catherine’s provides, both at the Hospice and in the community, have grown so much in recent years.

“When we heard that they now need to raise £11,000 each and every day of the year to pay for what they do, it seemed obvious that we should set our target for Bring a Pound to Work Day at £11,000. This was quite an ask, as it is double what we raised last year, but thanks to the huge generosity of our listeners, advertisers and local businesses, we smashed it!”
