Duke and Duchess of Cambridge guest on Radio 1

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have made a surprise appearance on Radio 1, to wish presenter Adele Roberts good luck with the London Marathon this weekend.

Prince William and his wife dropped in on the Scott Mills show this afternoon (Friday), to chat to Scott, co-host Chris Stark and Adele – who’s running the 26-mile course on Sunday in aid of the Heads Together charity which is supported by the Royal couple.

Other topics of conversation included ordering takeaways, wearing comfy clothes and the kids TV shows that Prince George watches. There was also a revelation that William had previously text in to Radio 1 with a fake name to request a song – and he’d received a shout out from then-presenter Sara Cox.

William and Kate stayed in the studio after 4pm to co-present the introduction to this week’s Official Chart with Greg James:

Yesterday, the Duke and Duchess officially opened the new Global Academy in Hayes, south London and appeared as part of a discussion programme on mental health on LBC.
