The Community Radio Awards return for 2017

Entries are now open for the Community Radio Awards 2017.

Martin Steers, awards chair, said: “We’d love your community radio stations to take part – it’s a fantastic opportunity to celebrate and promote the fantastic work that your station and your volunteers do.”

“Stations who entered last year have used their nominations, and awards, whether Gold, Silver or Bronze, to get local press coverage, and showcase to councils, officials, businesses and their community what they do.”

Drystone Radio, recipients of the marketing and station sound award, said: “It has increased our credibility in our area and lifted the self-confidence of the station as well as attracting new volunteers.”

Ian Nockolds, of Somer Valley FM, recipients of the sports show of the year, said: “The award justifies all the hard work and effort that has been put into sports broadcasting on Somer Valley FM, by so many people, over a number of years. The media coverage that the award has generated has been particularly satisfying, both on a local and a regional level.”

Submissions are open from the 19th May and close 5pm 30th June 2017. See the awards website for more details and to enter.

The Gold, Silver and Bronze for each categories will be announced at the ceremony in September the evening of the CMA conference (details of both to be released soon).
