Former talkRADIO favourite Tommy Boyd is making a return to the station for a one-off show tonight.
Tommy was part of the line-up when talkRADIO launched in 1995 but left in ’98 before it rebranded to talkSPORT. He later returned, in 2000, with a regular show.
More recently he’s been on BBC Southern Counties Radio, Original 106, Play Radio UK and covered breakfast at Rock Radio in Manchester. His radio career started at LBC before moving on to Southern Sound and 5 live.
The station says he’s back for a one-off show tonight at 10pm but RadioToday understands it could be the start of future cover shifts for the former children’s television presenter.
Fantastic news. A very skilled broadcaster who is always thought provoking. Whale followed by Boyd, a great evening of listening.

He was just as good as always, although as he admitted, easing himself back in slowly. Definitely needs a full time slot.
