Former LBC, Capital and BBC Radio London presenter Anna Cookson is joining BBC Radio Kent to co-host the breakfast show.
Anna will replace Maggie Doyle who is returning to her native Ireland after three years at the BBC Local station. Co-host John Warnett is staying on the show and will be joined by Anna from June 12th.
Maggie’s last show will be the morning after the elections on June 9th.
Speaking of her departure, Maggie, who also previously worked at Absolute Radio, said “It has been a wonderful three years in my adopted home, I’ve been made very welcome by the men and maids of Kent. Working with John has been a job I’ve loved; I feel proud of the results we’ve achieved in our time together. I’m looking forward to returning home to be closer to my family and loved ones.”
John Warnett added: “It’s been a great 3 years working with Maggie, I have learnt a lot about Ireland! I’m really looking forward to building on the current success with Anna who will bring a youthful vigour to the sound of breakfast in Kent.”
Speaking of her addition to the presenting lineup station Editor Gordon Davidson added: “I’m looking forward to Anna’s arrival on the breakfast show, her quick wit and relaxed style are perfect for the biggest local talk breakfast show in Kent.”
