Gravity FM plays sweary DMX song at Drivetime

Ofcom has upheld a complaint against Gravity FM, a community radio station in Grantham.

The complaint was about the broadcast of DMX’s song, “X Gon’ Give It To Ya”. The song contained eight instances of “fck”, “fcking” or “motherfcker”, and seven instances of “ngger” or “n*ggers”.

The station acknowledged that this song had been broadcast in error and it had taken steps to prevent recurrence, whilst referring to correspondence relating to a previous investigation by Ofcom.

Ofcom found the station in breach of Rule 1.14 of the broadcasting code.
