Jonny Gould departs talkRADIO after 16 months

Former talkRADIO evening show presenter Jonny Gould has left the station less than a year and a half after it launched.

Jonny was on the weekday evening show when the talkRADIO brand returned as a national digital station in March 2016. He was the only presenter to have been on air on the launch day last year who was also on the original Talk Radio on its launch day in 1995.

It’s understood the decision for him to leave was talkRADIO’s, but Jonny tells RadioToday he’s in talks with another radio station.

Since November, Jonny has been presenting a Sunday review show. Over the years he’s worked at stations including Smooth Radio, LBC and talkSPORT – and was Sports Editor of IRN in the early 1990s. Jonny is also the founder and CEO of Sportsmedia, which used to supply audio sports news bulletins to radio stations all over the UK.

Real shame. Top guy. Wrong slot. Their loss

Such a shame. I really did enjoy the interviews. A compact show for a Sunday afternoon. Does this mean there is about to be an openning for the return of Tommy Boyd. I hope they are not going to fill the void with another repeat or a best of.
