Former Star Radio presenter Neil Jones is moving his long-running Rock Show to Cambridge 105.
Neil Jones has been presenting his Rock Show on radio in Cambridge for 18 years, and arrives as the station also introduces a new Blues show hosted by Gary Blue.
Neil’s guests on the show over the years include AC/DC, Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Muse, My Chemical Romance, Motorhead, Guns n Roses, Led Zeppelin, Slipknot, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen, Def Leppard and ZZ Top.
The Rock Show with Neil Jones will broadcast live from Cambridge 105’s Gwydir Street studios every Tuesday evening from 9pm till 11pm. Gary Blue will then host the Blue Show.
Gary has been a part of the review team at Blues & Rhythm magazine for over 20 years and the playlists from The Blues Show will help compile the worldwide blues chart listed in Mississippi-based Living Blues magazine.
Neil Jones said: “Having presented the Rock Show in Cambridge for two decades, I really feel the show has found its true home on Cambridge 105 Radio. There’s such an appetite for rock in the city and I look forward to including local talent alongside the best in the business.”
Gary Blue added: “Blues music is underrepresented on UK radio, so I’m delighted to be able to sit alongside such a wide variety of different musical genres and tell the true story of the blues.”
Tim Willett, Station Manager, Cambridge 105 said: “I’m really pleased to welcome Neil and Gary to Cambridge 105 Radio, their musical knowledge is second to none, and they’ll make a great addition to our line-up. With Renegade Rock and Get Heavy on Thursday nights, Cambridge 105 really is the place for rock fans.”
