Today’s deadline for entries to the Audio and Radio Industry Awards has been extended to 5pm on Wednesday 9th August.
The Radio Academy issued a statement today from the organisers saying they have been inundated with requests from people struggling to get all of their entries submitted in time.
The event is taking place on 19th October in Leeds, the same venue as the first event of its kind last year.
Phil Riley – Chair of Judges, Chris Burns – Chair of The Radio Academy, Roger Cutsforth – CEO of The Radio Academy issued this joint statement to RadioToday: “Wow – the number of entries for this year have surpassed all of our expectations and over the last few days we have been inundated with requests from people struggling to get all of their entries submitted in time.
“We have therefore taken the decision, in these extenuating circumstances, to extend the deadline until 5pm [17:00 BST] next Wednesday 9th August, to avoid lots of disappointment. If you’re already in great and thank you, if not then crack on as we simply cannot extend further.”
