Virgin Radio hires programmer Mike Cass

Digital station Virgin Radio has appointed the former Bauer and Galaxy PD Mike Cass as Content Controller.

Mike has most recently been working for Z953 and LG1043 in Vancouver, and before that was at Bauer’s Big City Network in the UK. He’s also worked at Nova in Australia and spent a long period as Group Programme Director for Galaxy and Choice, including at Galaxy 105 in Leeds.

Francis Currie, Group Content Director – Music Radio at Wireless Group, told RadioToday.co.uk: “Mike is a world-class content controller. I am looking forward to working closely with him on the growth and development of Virgin Radio, one of the best brands in UK radio.”

Mike said: “I can’t wait to be a part of the team at Virgin Radio, it’s such an iconic brand and I’m beyond excited to be joining.”

Mike starts the job tomorrow (Tues 5th September).

    Great, but can anyone actually get the new Wireless Group stations on DAB? I’ve retuned six radios here in the North West but only one would pick them up.
