Mark Goodier returns to radio with Absolute

Mark Goodier is joining the Absolute Radio network for a series of special programmes focussing on the careers of music icons.

As part of this series, he will be hosting ‘Elton John- Diamonds’, a two-part special featuring an exclusive interview with Elton John and Bernie Taupin. The programme sees Elton and Bernie reminisce about careers which have spanned over 50 years.

The former BBC Radio 1 and Smooth Radio presenter was most recently on BBC Radio 2, covering a number of shows. He suffered two strokes in 2016 and 2017, says he is delighted to be returning radio with this series of shows for Absolute Radio.

Absolute Radio Content Director, Paul Sylvester comments: “Mark is a true master of the art of radio and I’m delighted he’s joining the Absolute Radio family. We pride ourselves in crafting documentaries and special programming which charts the careers of the artists we play and Mark is in a unique position to tell these stories. Mark Goodier says ‘As a music fan I love it that the Absolute network finds the time to celebrate music and the people who create it with these specials. I think the audience is in for a treat.”

You can listen to Mark’s show throughout November on Absolute Radio, Absolute 80s, Absolute Radio 70s. His two-part chat with Elton and Bernie will be airing on Saturday 18/25 November at 10pm Absolute Radio.
