IRN Awards 2018 with Sky News entries open

The entries for next year’s IRN Awards in association with Sky News are now open.

Entry forms are available online including for a new category this year – the Campaigning Journalism Award.

Dave Terris, IRN Editor & Chair of Judges told RadioToday: “Terror attacks at the heart of communities in Manchester and London and the horror and lasting impact of the Grenfell Tower fire have overshadowed events of the past 12 months. The political landscape shifted slightly after a snap general election in which Theresa May lost her Commons majority making Brexit negotiations that little bit trickier.

“There have been unsavory allegations of abuse in Hollywood and Westminster, a ratcheting up of diplomatic tensions between North Korea and the West and a fascinating yet highly controversial first year in the White House for President Donald Trump.

“And listeners have been super-served with local stories too. News-making interviews, high impact campaigns and investigations, and compelling and creatively presented human interest stories. All of which shows commercial radio news thriving in an era of misinformation.”
