Rathergood Radio is being investigated by Ofcom for a possible breach of its licence.
The regulator says the investigation has been launched under the General Procedures for investigating breaches of broadcast licences, but does not say what prompted the action.
Ofcom told RadioToday: “We’re aware that Rathergood Radio is not currently on air, and we are discussing this with the station.”
Rathergood Radio has not been operating within its allowed format for the last 10 days, due to no programming appearing on at least two of its four transmitters.
Transmission provider Arqiva told RadioToday it ‘reluctantly’ pulled the plug on the station’s services on Friday 7th December due to outstanding balances, saying it was not a decision it took lightly.

I have just listened to Rathergood Radio on the North Yorkshire mux in part of East Yorkshire. Therefore as MuxCo run the mux I presume that this investigation by Ofcom refers to Rathergood’s FM transmissions from some Aqiva installations in County Durham.
Like a dying animal, Rathergood seems to be lashing out in all directions. The less said the better if you do not wish to be sued!
Expect another hilarious press release from Ratherbad Radio any time now!
