Broadcast Radio director in charity boxing match

One of Broadcast Radio’s founding director Liam Burke is taking part in a charity boxing match on behalf of the company.

He’s raising money for Broadcast Radio’s chosen charity this year, Cancer Research UK.

Participants undergo eight weeks of intense training before competing in a real boxing match at a ‘black tie’ event. Liam started training back in April and will be competing in his bout on the 23rd of June at the Bath’s Hall, Scunthorpe.

Speaking about the experience, Liam said “This has been one of the hardest experiences of my life. I thought I was reasonably fit before I started, that belief lasted until about 10 minutes into the first session! Training has been really tough with a high emphasis on fitness levels, but I have enjoyed the challenge and meet some great people along the way. The key thing is that thanks the tremendous support of friends, family colleagues and customers, we have been able to raise a lot of money for Cancer Research UK and that makes all the pain worth it.”

Broadcast Radio would also like to thank everyone that has supported Liam on his journey and wish him all the best for his upcoming contest.
