BBC Radio Lancashire’s breakfast presenter Graham Liver has hosted his show from the Lancashire Fire Command Centre on the side of Winter Hill.
He was there on Monday morning as the fire spread towards the transmitter mast at Winter Hill, threatening to pull down the transmitters and cut off dozens of radio stations.
Graham told RadioToday: “It was clear that this was going to be a massive story and we needed to be there when Lancashire woke up on Monday morning. To work alongside Lancashire Fire and Rescue and their partners was a huge honour.
“The hard work of Fire crews from across the country kept the transmitter on air over the weekend and being able to say thank you today was brilliant.”
