David Tighe, a Regional Managing Director at Global, is moving to Bauer as Managing Director, Bauer Radio Northern Ireland.
In this role, David will be responsible for the future development of Cool FM, Downtown and Downtown Country.
Commenting on the appointment, Dee Ford, Group Managing Director, Bauer Radio said: “In David, we have found exactly the right person to drive this successful business to the next level. David has a fantastic breadth of commercial radio experience as both a Managing Director and Programmer coupled with the strong values and vision essential for this role”.
David Tighe added: “The chance to represent and lead Northern Ireland’s most famous radio brands is one I couldn’t resist. I am looking forward to working with the successful teams at Cool FM, Downtown and Downtown Country and to help deliver even better results and relationships with audiences and clients alike”.
David was previously Regional Managing Director, South East UK at Global where he managed eight commercial teams.
He was also Chief Executive and Programme Director at Limerick Live 95FM, and CEO at Radio Nova and 4FM in Ireland. Prior to this, he was Programme Director for TFM Radio, a presenter at Chiltern, and was a former Chairman of the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland in the Republic of Ireland and a member of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission (BCC), that oversaw standards for all public and commercial radio and TV in the Republic of Ireland.
David will join Bauer Radio, Northern Ireland in the summer. Simon Mann will be Interim Managing Director in the meantime.
In addition, Stuart Robinson has been promoted to Content Director for Bauer Radio Northern Ireland with immediate effect.
