Online station HG1 Radio set to launch for Harrogate
A new online radio station is planning to launch for the Harrogate area on Monday from 8am.
HG1 Radio will play music, have local news and provide specialist shows including rock, soul and country music.
The station is run by the people behind York community radio station YO1 Radio.
Chris Marsden, HG1 Radio‘s Programme & Creative Director, said: “We promise to be part of the local community and deliver a truly local radio station with great music and presenters that live and breathe the area!
“Having broadcast to the area back in 2005 for many years, it’s good to be back!”
HG1 Radio starts just weeks ahead of Harrogate’s commercial radio station, Stray FM, rebranding as Greatest Hits Radio and dropping all local programmes.
