JACK stations have signed up to become the official media partner of the last ever Twin Town Challenge.
The Twin Town Challenge is a charity car rally in which teams buy a banger, pimp it up, and drive it from Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire to Le Touquet in France.
Through the partnership, JACK Media will bring the challenge to life for its listeners, also exploring the work of the SpecialEffect charity, which focuses on improving the lives of those with physical disabilities.
Jim Rosenthal, host of network breakfast show JACK’S Wake Up Call, will also take part in the challenge alongside his co-host Trevor Marshall.
It’s happening from Friday 29 April to Monday 2 May 2022, having been postponed for two consecutive years as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. JACK’s news team will also broadcast the news from the back of the banger.
Caroline O’Connor, Group Marketing Manager at JACK Media National, said: “The Twin Town Challenge presents an opportunity to have some fun and create some brilliant radio content, whilst supporting a thoroughly deserving charity in SpecialEffect.
“The team at JACK Media are proud to do our bit to support charity initiatives wherever possible, so we’re delighted to be able to give this prominent occasion a national platform through our popular radio network and hope this goes some way to supporting the fundraising efforts.”
Twin Town Challenge organiser Brendon Cross said: “We can’t think of a better media partner than JACK Media because, just like Twin Town, the JACK brand is fun, wacky and just a little bit quirky.
“The association will help us to spread the word and share the Twin Town love as we look to raise even more money to help SpecialEffect make a life-changing difference to so many lives. Having Jim, Trev and the JACK team with us on this journey will enable us to share the experience with so many listeners.”
