Ofcom holds Meet and Greet event for radio stations in Edinburgh

Ofcom held another meet and greet event at its Edinburgh office this week as it continues a series of visits across the nations and regions of the United Kingdom.

Ofcom welcomed licensees from across Scotland and the North East of England who were given an opportunity to meet members of the Broadcast Licensing and Programme Operations team at Ofcom’s Edinburgh Office.

Moderating the meeting was Paul Mercer – Director, Broadcast Licensing and Programme Operations.

The roundtable discussion gave stations the opportunity to share key issues affecting their service at the moment with a specific focus on the effect that the current cost of living crisis was having on broadcasters.

Amongst those attending the meeting were community stations such as Nevis Radio from Lochaber and Stirling & Falkirk’s independent commercial station Central FM.

Recently launched small scale DAB multiplex operator Edinburgh DAB was also there with many of the 20 stations currently broadcasting across the city, including Heartsong Live, Celtic Music Radio and Scotland’s hit music station, Edge Radio.
