The Radio Academy will hold its next Training Day in Wales at Cardiff University on Wednesday 29 March.
The six-hour programme of talks with industry leaders will start at midday, and will include sessions on programme production, podcasting, music radio, news and speech, features, imaging, and technology.
It will end with a ‘demo clinic’ for aspiring presenters to get advice from programmers about their latest work, followed by networking drinks.
The Training Day will take place at The School of Journalism, Media and Culture (JOMEC) at Cardiff University – part of the new Central Square complex, alongside the BBC Cymru Wales building.
Tickets are available now costing £10 for Radio Academy Members, or £20 for non-members. Tickets include light refreshments on the day and the first drink in the bar, and the non-member price includes a discount code for £10 off Radio Academy Membership.
Speakers will be announced over the coming weeks. The Academy’s previous Training Days have included speakers from the BBC, Commercial and Community radio, including national and local presenters and leadership.
Announcing the Cardiff Training Day, Managing Director of The Radio Academy Sam Bailey said: “Having held Training Days in Exeter, Coventry and London last year, it’s really exciting to be heading to Cardiff later this month. I hope everyone who loves radio in South Wales can join us – professionals, volunteers, students, podcasters – it’s a great chance for everyone to share their love of audio, and learn from colleagues”.
