Radio X took its Friday Horn sky-high this bank holiday weekend as Sunta Templeton broadcast live from a hot air balloon, thousands of feet above Somerset.
The stunt was part of Thatchers Haze’s month-long sponsorship of the station’s drivetime show, The 4 til 7 Thang.
At 5:30pm on Friday, the station’s “Friday Horn” sounded from the skies, marking the start of the weekend in a unique on-air moment. Sunta Templeton then delivered a DJ set from the balloon, with Thatchers Haze on board.
Thatchers cider maker Martin Thatcher said: “Partnering with the Radio X team to blast the iconic Friday Horn from thousands of feet in the air was the perfect way to start the glorious bank holiday weekend and kick off British Cider Time.”
Sunta Templeton added: “We’ve had some big Friday Horns in our time, but this one was literally next level. We’re both about banging tunes and celebrating the end of the working day.”
The activity supports a wider campaign by Thatchers Cider, which includes festival partnerships and competitions such as a Somerset stay and cider tour, and tickets to summer events.
