A plea for someone to call emergency services from an open mic was the last sound heard during an American radio presenters last show, shortly after he died whilst on-air. Chass Offut had been hosting programmes in Cumberland since the 1950s and his death was confirmed by WTBO on Boxing Day.
Before presenting at the Maryland radio station, he was the host of a popular late night rock and roll programme on WCUM in the 1960s.
