Gayle Lofthouse joins Ben Fry for Minster Breakfast

Minster FM has hired former Real Radio breakfast show presenter Gayle Lofthouse for breakfast, along with former Yorkshire Radio Station Director Ben Fry.
The new show started today, as a replacement for Paul Griffiths who has joined Pulse 1 in West Yorkshire for Drivetime.
Minster FM has branded the show as Team GB after the initials of each presenter, and it airs weekdays from 6:30am. Both presenters started their radio careers with stints on work experience at the UKRD station.
Gayle departed Real Radio Yorkshire when it rebranded as Heart, prompting a social media campaign of almost 30,000 followers all wanting her back on the air. Former co-host Dixie even blogged about her exit saying “To those of you who are upset that we are not together anymore, then all I can say is this… I’m sure you understand that things can’t stay the same forever.”
When asked why she thought she’d been given the opportunity to wake up the area each morning Gayle said: “After I turned up a week early for my interview they just felt sorry for me,” while Ben added: “we’re really looking forward to giving the people of York & North Yorkshire a breakfast they can really call their own.”
The station hints there will be more announcements coming soon.
