Tommo returns to Radio Cymru after suspension

BBC Radio Cymru says afternoon show presenter Andrew Thomas will return to his show next week following an internal investigation into comments he made at an event.

Tommo was taken off air following a complaint about something he said while compering at Gwyl Nol a Mlan music festival in Llangrannog, Ceredigion earlier this month.

The BBC said that Tommo had “apologised unreservedly” to the festival organisers.

“He will return to his present his daily show next week,” said a spokesperson, who also told BBC News that it takes “complaints of this nature very seriously and has taken appropriate action following the investigation”.

Tommo joined the BBC in 2013 having previously been a presenter for commercial radio group Town and Country Broadcasting, which operates a number of local radio licences in south and west Wales.
