Sensational Tony Blackburn is to be interviewed by former BBC Radio 5 live drive presenter Aasmah Mir for a Radio Academy event in London.
The Academy will be celebrating the career of the BBC Radio 2 and commercial radio DJ on Wednesday 6th February at The Gibson Building in central London.
From his early days on pirate radio, to being the first voice on BBC Radio 1 in 1967, Tony has always been somewhat of a pioneer, but after a 50 year career in radio, what has defined him for the public is his honesty, warmth, adaptability, and love of music.
A much-loved household name, his career has spanned radio, TV and film and has even seen him crowned King Of The Jungle on I’m A Celebrity back in 2002, confirming his status as one of the UK’s national treasures.
It’s free to members but you need to register – full details on the Radio Academy website here.
