XFM signs biggest sponsor deal

XFM is to team up with clothing retailer Topman for a 5 month sponsorship deal. The fashion chain is associating itself with the GCap station's 10th Birthday gigs, which start later this month. XFM London, Manchester and Scotland will all take part in the promotion.

The deal is the biggest ever sponsorship undertaken by Topman and runs until November. They'll sponsor 10 intimate and exclusive London gigs to be held over ten weeks, with high profile bands such as CSS, The Fratellis and Razorlight. The deal includes Topman branding on-air, online and at the events as well as in-store promotions in Topman’s flagship stores across the UK.

There'll be exclusive gigs in Scotland and Manchester, and listeners in those areas will also be able to win tickets to the big London gigs. Competition winners across the Network will have the opportunity to win shopping sprees in Topman.

Jason Griffiths, Marketing Director at the clothing chain said: "Topman is a firm supporter of young talent both in music and fashion, promoting new bands and artists and giving them the opportunity to perform live at events. The association between Xfm and Topman is the perfect choice for us. We are delighted to be working with Xfm once again as it reinforces our continued strategy of linking music and fashion by working with credible partners."

The deal was conceived and managed by Janet Dinger and Elen Thomas at Carat Sponsorship with Lauren Stone and Shiefra Headey at GCap Media.

XFM London launched on 1st September 1997.
