Radio Indies to hire a Managing Director

The Radio Independents Group, which represents UK indie radio production companies, is seeking a Managing Director to lead the development of the organisation.

The two day a week post will be the organisation’s first executive at this level and the organisation says it is a reflection of RIG’s increased profile and commitment to its members to deliver an expanding range of services.

RIG Chair and founder of TBI Media, Phil Critchlow told RadioToday: “RIG is now regularly engaging with broadcasters, media, Government and Parliament at the highest level. Most recently, in addition to providing services such as a legal advice and events for members, we renegotiated Terms of Trade with the BBC and successfully applied to run a pilot skills scheme.

“As working producers the RIG Board has taken things a long way but we now looking for someone to help us manage and take RIG to the next level. They will have experience at an appropriately senior level in the industry and will be able to demonstrate real vision about the opportunities available to all RIG members.”

The Radio Independents Group was established 10 years ago and represents around 100 companies of various sizes specialising in audio‐based content across the UK.
