Ofcom has re-awarded the local FM commercial radio licences for the Wolverhampton and Southport areas to the current licensees, 107.7 The Wolf and Dune FM Limited respectively.
These licences have been re-awarded under Ofcom's 'fast-track' process, and both will be for a period from their current expiry date to 31 December 2015.
The Wolf, operated by Wolverhampton Area Radio Limited is owned by UTV Radio (GB) and Dune FM has recently changed ownership from TLRC to David Duffy, chief executive of Cheshire FM and owner of NIOCOM Limited.
