Hattrick for GMG Radio Scotland

All three GMG radio stations in Scotland are getting involved in this year's Winterfest in Glasgow. Real, Rock and Smooth Radio will all play a part in the annual event.

The three stations will be heavily involved in many of the events taking place over the festival, which beings on Sunday 16 November with Glasgow’s Christmas Lights Switch on in George Square. Flicking the switch this year, will be Real Radio’s Robin Galloway and Cat Harvey from The Real Breakfast show.
Real Radio, Rock Radio and Smooth Radio will be hosting daily live broadcasts from their custom radio lounge and listeners will get the chance to see presenters live in George Square. Each station will also host weekly nights in George Square, from The Real Party every Friday night, with Real Radio, to Tea Dance Tuesday’s with Smooth and The Road to Hogmanay with Rock Radio and King Tuts.
Jay Crawford, programme director for GMG Radio Scotland said, “GMG Radio Scotland is thrilled to be part of Winterfest Glasgow 2008. Real, Smooth and Rock Radio, will all play a huge part in bringing Winterfest alive, both on the airwaves and live in the heart of Glasgow.
“To be involved in such landmark events as Glasgow’s Christmas Lights switch on and Glasgow’s Hogmanay, to St Andrew’s Day festivities in George Square is just fantastic. GMG Radio Scotland hopes to help make Winterfest Glasgow 2008, the most memorable yet.”
The Lord Provost of Glasgow, Bob Winter, said: “This year’s programme is the biggest and best yet and we’re delighted that GMG Radio are so heavily involved. I’ve no doubt the team will be an integral part of helping to keep us all entertained over the coming months.”
