Gemma joins Trevor at 1Xtra

Former Big Brother's Big Ears presenter Gemma Cairney is joining BBC 1Xtra as breakfast co-host with Trevor Nelson.

Gemma began her career working in fashion as a stylist before entering the world of TV and radio. She said:: "I'm ecstatic to be joining; not only am I excited to imprint myself onto the station, but mostly I'm ecstatic to be sharing peanut butter on toast with Trevor Nelson every morning!"
Lorna Clarke, Head of Programmes 1Xtra, said: "1Xtra has a strong track record for finding and developing brand new talent to radio and this continues with Gemma who really is our audience – fun, smart and passionate about music."
Gemma starts on Monday 10th November.
