Traffic Radio launches at NEC

Birmingham has a new full time radio station, and it comes in the shape of Traffic Radio, operating on a new long term low-power AM licence for visitors to the National Exhibition Centre.

It is the first permanent analogue terrestrial outlet for the service, which is already broadcasting online and on digital radio in various parts of the UK. It is now heard on 1386 AM.
The station is operated by the Highways Agency and will feature rolling travel news about the M6, M42, M5 and local roads direct from the control room of the National Traffic Control Centre near Birmingham.
