TFM exec to lead Star sales

Star Radio in Darlington have taken on Lesley Lane from local rivals TFM to head up their sales operation. Lesley's spent 20 years with the Stockton-based Bauer station and joins Star to lead their 14-strong commercial team.

It's not just a new job Lesley's taking on – she's also just got married and started ballroom dancing classes!

Star launched last year, replacing the Alpha brand. UKRD's stations in Northallerton and Durham also became Star and the three now share all programming from Darlington.

Lesley tells RadioToday.co.uk: "I've worked in radio sales and media for a long time and I am really looking forward to starting a new chapter of my career. I am really glad to be working with Star Radio in its formative years as a station on the ascension in an industry where the majority are managing decline.

"Working for Star Radio means I can be a real part of local business community and develop mutual beneficial relationships with a broad range of clients. I have a strong team in place and I am looking forward to being a part of the Star Radio success story."

Mark Reason, Star Radio NE's Managing Director added: "We are thrilled to have Lesley join our team. She brings a huge amount of experience to the business. The business expansion plan we have is proving successful in attracting experienced and talented staff."
