Super deal for Yorkshire Radio

Digital sports station Yorkshire Radio has re-signed with the Rugby Football League to do live commentary on the Super League for next season.

The deal means the station – which is owned by Leeds United and broadcast on DAB in Yorkshire on via Sky TV – will increase the number of matches broadcast to 50 in 2011.

The 'Super League Live' show hosted by Richard Stead will have live commentary on games featuring the region's 7 top-flight rugby league clubs on Friday nights and and Sunday afternoons.

Ben Fry, station director of Yorkshire Radio, told RadioToday.co.uk: "We are committed to live sport and pleased to commit to another year of Super League commentary. Given the response from fans to our commentary this year felt we needed to increase the number of live game to 50."

Paul Kimberley, the Rugby Football League's Commercial Director, added: "Yorkshire Radio’s audience is on the increase and with 50 live games next season I am sure more and more Rugby League fans will follow their team on Yorkshire Radio."
