Radio 1 and 1Xtra's new Commissioning Editor is to speak at the UK's only dedicated radio production conference.
Piers Bradford has been promoted to oversee content on the documentary strands at the BBC's youth radio networks and will appear at Radio Production In the North at Salford Quays in March.
It gives Piers the chance to set out his vision for documentaries, programming strands like The Surgery, social action features and specials across both networks.
On his [link=https://radiotoday.co.uk/news.php?extend.6640.17]appointment earlier this month[/link], Bradford said he was looking to forge closer links with the independent production sector.
Conference founder Ashley Byrne told RadioToday.co.uk: "I’m delighted and excited that Piers will be speaking at the conference. It will provide a great opportunity for producers, especially those from outside London, to get to know him. From my discussions with Piers I get the impression he really wants to reach out to the independent production sector and to reflect issues affecting young people in all corners of the UK."
Other speakers at this year’s conference include Head of BBC Audio and Music Tim Davie and the Head of Commissioning at Irish state broadcaster RTE, Lorelei Harris.
