Global has appointed James Rea to be their new Group Head of News and Managing Editor of LBC.
He takes over from Jonathan Richards who left the role at the end of May.
James will report to Global’s Director of Broadcasting Richard Park and will be responsible for news output across all of the group’s stations as well as the day to day running of the two London speech stations, LBC 97.3 and LBC 1152.
Richard Park said: “James has a wealth of experience working in the radio industry and we’re impressed with his achievements throughout his career. This is a great appointment for Global Radio and we’re delighted to welcome him to the team.”
James was previously Deputy Group PD at GMG Radio. He told us: “I’m looking forward to working on LBC and some of the best radio brands in the business – continuing Global’s commitment to national and regional news across its stations. It’s been a privilege to be part of the GMG Radio team and I will always be grateful for the opportunities I have been given.”
