UK Radio observes 07/07 silence

Almost every radio station in the country wil be observing a two minute silence at 12 midday today to mark the first anniversary of the 7 July bombings in London 12 months ago. Commercial radio stations in London will hold special reports during the morning and into the afternoon, looking back at events on the day.

All BBC Radio networks will be observing the two-minute silence and radio news programmes will reflect the occasion in different ways during the day including live elements, interviews and outside broadcasts.

BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat at 12.45pm will be presented by Georgina Bowman from Tavistock Square. The first hour of BBC Radio 2’s Jeremy Vine show focuses on 7 July remembrance.
