Ofcom have announced that 830,000 pounds is available in the Community Radio fund for the 2006/2007 financial year. This follows the award of grants to 15 Stations in the first round totaling ?229,063. A further ?600,937 remains in the Fund for applications in the second round.
The second round of applications will be invited in October 2006, with a closing date in November, and decisions in January 2007.
Ofcom’s Community Radio Fund Panel met on 29th June to consider applications for grants in first round for 2006/2007. The panel received a total of 45 applications, 18 applications were not awarded a grant and decisions were deferred on 12 applications. Grants were awarded to 15 applicants in England and Scotland.
