The UK’s biggest commercial radio production will be broadcast on over 200 radio stations this Saturday.
Live 8 will start at 10am and continue till 1am, almost commercial free and full of top name presenters. Ricky Gervais, Ulrika Jonsson, Johnny Vaughan, Jamie Theakston, Patrick Kielty and Cat Deeley are amoungst the presenters along with Margherita Taylor in Rome and Jono Coleman in Canada.
There will also be some serious moments about the political reasons behind the day’s events and the Make Poverty History campaign with reports from Africa being aired throughout the day.
It is hoped an audience of 28 million will tune into the event. Radio stations with an online stream have been instructed to stop broadcasing on the internet as exclusive online rights to the event have been taken by AOL. A 2 hour follow-up programme is also planned for Sunday afternoon.
