Facebook hightlights Kerrang!

The success of Kerrang! Radio's Facebook page has prompted the social network to request a partnership with the West-Midlands based station.

Facebook is to promote Kerrang! as part of its Facebook Stories initiative after it attracted over 40,000 fans in two months.

The project aims to highlight successful use of social-networking in business.

Kerrang! Radio was placed in the music category with international acts Justin Beiber and U2 – as well as The X Factor and Spotify.

“Social networking is a 21st century phenomenon that lends itself really well to radio listeners, who can communicate directly with the presenters and talk about anything from the music we play to the topics of the day” Programme Director James Walshe told RadioToday.co.uk

“Our presenters are constantly delivering content to the Facebook and Twitter – be it status updates, photographs of visiting rock stars and videos of behind the scenes action at the regular gigs we host. We’re thrilled to get the nod from Facebook. It’s a bit weird to find Kerrang! in a category with Justin Beiber though!”
