Seventy-five thousand music fans gathered at Wembley stadium at the weekend for Capital FM’s annual Summertime Ball.
JLS, Jennifer Lopez, The Wanted, Cee Lo Green, Nicole Scherzinger, Jessie J and Enrique Iglesias were just some of the acts to perform for the quasi-national pop music station.
JLS kicked off the event with five songs mid-afternoon, with Ne-Yo bringing the show to a close with a three song collaboration including hit single ‘Give Me Everything’.
Jessie J performed her hits Do it Like a Dude and Nobody’s Perfect, and was joined on stage by rapper Devlin to perform Price Tag. Jennifer Lopez also sang a selection of her biggest hits including including Jenny From The Block, Waiting for Tonight and On the Floor.
Surprise guest performances came from up and coming artists Dev and Frank Musik, who joined Far East Movement on stage for their hits ‘Like a G6’ and ‘Rocketeer’. Dance act Flawless also performed at the event, with Starbucks Frappuccino® competition winner Sophie Goodman from Ashford, selected from hundreds of entries to perform live on stage with the dance troop.
Capital FM owner Global Radio has been promoting the event on various stations over the last couple of months, including the Heart network. It makes up one of two annual music events held by the station in London – the other being the Jingle Bell Ball at the o2 Arena.
