Forces Broadcaster BFBS Radio has teamed up with Audioboo and The Sun newspaper to enable people to record and upload messages for family and friends in the military.
Messages uploaded to ‘Boost for the Boys’ Audioboo channel are then played out of BFBS Radio’s stations around the world as well as on their station in the UK on DAB.
iPhone users can also upload a message through the free BFBS smartphone app.
Ernie Rowe, Head of BFBS Radio UK, said: “Our service keeps the Forces connected every day but there’s no substitute for hearing the voices of your loved ones when you’re thousands of miles apart. You can’t overestimate the positive effect on morale that these ‘Boost for the Boys’ messages will have and we are delighted to be teaming up with The Sun and Audioboo to give a lift to our dedicated servicemen and women.”
Mark Rock, founder and CEO at Audioboo added: “Audioboo is a platform that enables the spoken word to be captured, shared and saved. To connect people across the world through the power of speech. We couldn’t think of a better use of it than to allow forces personnel in far off, often dangerous, places to hear from their loved ones through the emotive power of voice”.
