The self-claimed saviour of Radio 1 is to play villain King Herod in the stage musical Jesus Christ Superstar.
Chris Moyles will make his debut in the Andrew Lloyd Webber production when it goes on tour around the UK later this year.
Also in the cast will be former Spice Girl Mel C and Olivier Award-winning comic and musician Tim Minchin, but the search for Jesus goes on.
Talking on his show this morning, chris said: “I’m going to go out there and steal the show – but don’t go and see the first few nights, by then I’ll have it sorted!”
“To receive a phone call from Andrew is very cool, but then when he asks you to be in his musical that’s pretty amazing and there is only one thing to respond with – and that is yes.
“My mum’s gonna be well excited.”
Some of the dates are in Glasgow and Dublin so Chris may miss some shows as a result but he is hoping it won’t affect the show to much.
The tour will call at London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, Nottingham and Sheffield during September and October.
