Hip-hop artist Scroobius Pip joins Xfm

Global Radio’s Xfm has signed Scroobius Pip to host his own weekly Saturday night show called The Beatdown – starting on Saturday 27th April.

Broadcasting across the UK each week from midnight to 1am, we’re told Scroobius will play the biggest and best new and old-school hip-hop and spoken word, showcasing some of the most dynamic artists in the industry.

xfmAs one half of hip-hop duo dan le sac vs Scroobius Pip, the British rapper has released two albums Angles and The Logic of Chance and performed at major festivals across the world including Glastonbury, Bestival and Coachella. He released his debut solo album Distraction Pieces in 2011 and has collaborated with critically acclaimed artists such as De La Soul, Bat For Lashes and King Blues.

Scroobius Pip said: “The chance to work with Xfm was one I couldn’t pass up. It’s the station that launched my career and, through amazing people like John Kennedy and Eddy Temple Morris, has always been at the forefront of giving exposure to new sounds.

“Hip-hop is such a deep genre and, through my show, I want to shine a light on some of the stuff that maybe doesn’t get enough of it.”
