Emap radio shows strength in London

Today?s Rajar quarterly figures for the period ending June 2004 show strong gains in the London market for Emap?s two stations, Kiss 100 and Magic 105.4.

In a period that has seen an increase in competitive marketing activity, Kiss 100 has increased its reach and hours to become the number one station in London for 15 ? 34 year olds. The station also recorded its highest market share, 4.7%, since December 2002.

In addition, Magic 105.4 recorded its biggest ever audience and maintained its 4.6% share of the London market. Kiss 100 and Magic 105.4 combined now have a 9.3% share up from 8.8% last quarter.

Outside of London, Key 103 in Manchester, Emap?s biggest analogue radio station, increased its audience by 2% and grew its share marginally to 9.2% quarter on quarter.

Within its leading national digital portfolio Smash Hits!, The Hits and Kerrang! all recorded audience gains.
