After a successful win in Manchester, GCap Media have announced plans to bid for the upcoming Northeast licence using the XFM brand.
Starting today, XFM online and on digital in the Northeast will provide a local service for two weeks to demonstrate how a local XFM would benefit the area.
Other bidders expected for the licence include GMG Radio wanting to expand the smooth fm brand, CanWest, Chrysalis and Chris Tarrent-backed Celador.
