UTV Radio appoints Phil Quartly

Phil Quartly will join UTV Radio in the New Year as Commercial Director with a broad range of responsibilities across talkSPORT and the group?s 17 local radio stations.

With more than 20 years experience in media, Phil is currently employed by EMAP and was formerly Managing Director of SIRS, Scottish Radio Holdings London Sales House. He is also a board director of the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB).

Scott Taunton, Managing Director, UTV Radio said: ?I am delighted that Phil is joining us in the New Year. His considerable expertise in UK radio will be a tremendous boost to our radio operations. Phil has a critical part to play in enhancing our audiences and commercial opportunities as well as enhancing relationships with advertisers and the UK Radio industry.?

The radio industry in the UK is currently in a period of transition and I have no doubt that UTV Radio will be at the forefront in taking the business to a new level. UTV Radio already has a great offering of stations in the UK and is about to become even stronger with the imminent launch of U105 in Belfast and Talk 107 in Edinburgh. I look forward to working with the management and helping to make UTV Radio an even bigger force in the UK market.?

In addition, the new UTV station for Belfast, U105 has commenced test transmissions on 105.8FM ready for their launch on Monday November 14th.
